The 5 days

5 days from first stance to full rounds

The order I used teaching adult beginner boxing classes: stand well first, then punch, combine, move and defend, then build your week.

01

Why boxing + stance and guard

Why boxing works as a workout, how to stand and hold your hands, a full safety note and a 1-10 baseline for energy, confidence and breath.

◷ 10 min
02

The jab and the cross

A safe fist, the two punches most of boxing is built on, and a short breath out on every punch.

◷ 10 min
03

Hooks, uppercuts + combinations

The boxing number system, two new punches and six easy 2 to 4 punch combinations to practice in the air.

◷ 15 min
04

Footwork, defense + a workout

Step without crossing your feet, slip, roll and block, then a 15-minute shadowboxing workout in 4 rounds.

◷ 15 min
05

Your weekly boxing plan

2 to 3 sessions a week, how to add a bag or gloves safely, and how to progress over 4 to 6 weeks.

◷ 10 min
By day 5 you have
  • A solid stance and guard
  • Six punches and six beginner combinations
  • A 15-minute shadowboxing workout
  • A weekly plan for the next 4 to 6 weeks
